Of course DD-WRT is more demanding than original firmware, but who is it for? Interested beginner, experienced user or ultra-nerd? Markd1958 says DD-WRT is much better than any original firmware. I don’t mean to question that. But in what sense do you think it is better? I have also looked at OpenWRT/LEDE. And think that is interesting too.

 · What is linksys best performing firmware for my wrt1900ac version 1? Honestly, NONE of the stock F/W versions are stable on any of the WRT1900AC* routers. I would have thought that that was pretty obvious if you have read the numerous threads on this forum.

 · So Reset to factory defaults first via the Linksys webGUI and flash the initial DD WRT build from the Linksys webGUI. As this router has a dual boot setup you should probably repeat this procedure so that both partitions have the DD-WRT firmware, otherwise the router will revert back to stock firmware if there is a lock up.
